Tour de Office Event Committee - Volunteer Position

Job No: TDO22018
Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane

TDO is EO’s very own in-house not for profit - and our mission is to put the breaks on chronic disease by encouraging Australia’s workforce to get active through an annual workplace cycle for charity! To date, we’ve raised over $800,000 for Australian Charities and hosted events in some of the biggest corporates in Australia!

With just one staff member on board we have HUGE goals in 2018:

  • Reach 1 Million Dollars in Charitable donations (for event history)
  • Host a bike in Every Australian Capital City
  • Host our first International Bike

Tour de Office needs volunteer committee members to ensure we reach these goals. If you are looking for an opportunity to do more, to give more and to grow more, we need to talk.

We’re looking for volunteers with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Social media and communications

To write some newsletter and social content and keep our coms plan on track.

  • Sales and Account Management

To brainstorm lead sourcing and sales strategies to grow the event. To provide guidance on how hosts are managed to grow and retain host participation. To discuss methods of increasing fundraising.

  • Recruitment and Training

To recruit and train our event volunteers

  • Technology

To contribute ideas around how to improve the event and research feasibility of introducing new technology.

  • Bike enthusiasts

To help Helen understand what the bloody hell is happening with the bikes and ensure we’re ahead of the curve with the equipment we offer our hosts.

What is the commitment:

  • Approximately 2-4 hours of work per month in your own time
  • 1-2 Lunch Time Meetings per Month (We can make these - active walking meetings, stair climbs, whatever floats your boat)
  • We will start with one meeting per month and these will increase to two as event gets closer

What we can offer:

  • A sense of superiority over your lazy colleagues who aren’t volunteering
  • Pretty cool title to add to your LinkedIn profile
  • An opportunity to brag about all your charitable work on your next date or next time you catch up with friends or family
  • First preference on selecting your bike timeslot in this year’s TDO event

Next Steps:

  • Think hard about whether you have time to commit to this.
  • If necessary have a chat with your Team Leader and ensure they’re on board - this volunteer work is not to take you away from your current workload and is to be completed in your own time.
  • Express your interest in person or via email to Helen (She’s in the office on Tuesdays) helen@tourdeoffice.com ph. 0429347417
  • Appointments will be made on April 10th
